11-23-07 - Message Board Status
Luckily, the UIMB is back!  The file that was causing the problem is fixed without any information lost and any damage to the message board. I appreciate everyone's patient while we fixed the situation.

11-20-07 - ...And It's Down Again!
The UIMB is down again.  This time it's not a reported error, although I can tell you what file is causing the error.  Pray hard that they are able to restore the file as it is the one with everyone's login information in it.  I have everything backed up, but it was from a couple of weeks ago after the board went down.  As tech support doesn't know the severity of the problem, I have no idea how long the board will be down.  I will post here as soon as I have more information.

11-07-07 - Message Board Is Back!
Looks like the UI message board is back up.  From what I understand, it's still running a little intermittently on other sites. If there are any signs of other unexpected problems, I will let y'all know.
 

11-06-07 - Message Board Down
Due to an issue that the webhosting company is having with all message boards hosted on their service, the UI message board is currently down. According to tech-support, it is a known issue that should be fixed within the next day or so.  As far as how this impacts the planned KeithChat for this Friday, I will make the call to reschedule if it becomes apparent that the message board will not be up in time.  Until then, KeithChat is still schedule for this coming Friday, November 9th, at 8:00 p.m. CDT.
 

10-31-07 - Change of Date for next KeithChat
Due to a recent development, I will not be available to moderate KeithChat this coming Friday.  So, KeithChat has been rescheduled for the following Friday, November 9th at the regular time & place. I apologize for the short notice.
 

10-31-07 - Keith Urban Is a 'People' Person
If you been a KU fan for a while, you not so fondly remember the days when getting KU on magazine covers, even the of the smallest magazine, was an uphill battle.  Nowadays, it's more commonplace to see his face gracing the newsstands at the grocery check out. But, they don't get much bigger than People magazine.  Keith will appear on the upcoming issue of the magazine with an interview inside which talks about how his music and Nicole got him through the roughest year of his life.
 

10-28-07 - Keith Urban Earns Another ARIA Award
The ARIA again has honored Keith with the award for Country Album of the Year.  In accepting the recognition for his album, Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing, Keith acknowledged those critical in the creation and success of the album, especially his wife Nicole Kidman.  "It would not exist without my wife.  She was the inspiration for it," he said from the stage as Kidman blew him a kiss from their table.

10-23-07 - Keith Gives Fans '18 Kids'
Keith's much-rumored greatest hits project will soon be in his fans' hands!  The release date for the album, titled Keith Urban Greatest Hits: 18 Kids, will be available in stores on November 20^th. The CD features two newly recorded tracks, a remake of Steve Forbert's 1979 hit, "Romeo's Tune," and a new full band recording of "Got It Right This Time (The Celebration)," as well as re-mastered versions of all of his #1s: his first, "But For The Grace Of God," "Somebody Like You," "Days Go By," "You'll Think Of Me," "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and more. As KU explains, "These songs are like my children. That's what prompted the "18 Kids" subtitle."  Fans can pre-order the album through the store at Keith's website. 10-22-07 - Airing of Keith's Ellen Appearance Rescheduled
Keith's visit on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which was sheduled to air today has been rescheduled for November 6th.  Mark it on your calendar so you won't Keith performing his latest single, "Everybody"!

10-11-07 - Keith to Perform at Alzheimer's Benefit
On November 28^th, Keith is scheduled to perform in Atlanta in a "once in a lifetime, intimate, acoustic concert with co-writer & friend Monty Powell & jazz singer Anna Wilson. The concert called better start livin', will allow the artists to share their vision of communicating a powerful message through an intimate "storytelling" performance, while raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. The idea for the concert began with Monty Powell who lost his father to early onset Alzheimer's. For information on purchasing tickets, go to alz.org/georgia.

10-10-07 - Keith on TV THIS MONTH!
In promotion of the upcoming leg of Keith's Love, Pain & the whole crazy world tour", as well as his anticipated greatest hits package, Keith will be making the rounds of the talk shows this month. Keith will appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on October 17^th,  The Jimmy Kimmel Show on the outdoor stage on October 19^th (tickets for which are sold-out) and on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on October 22^nd.

10-02-07 - Be a part of  the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEITH! St. Jude Birthday Fundraiser"
Every year, in lieu of personal gifts & cards to Keith honoring his birthday on October 26^th, his fans come together & make donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  This will be the fourth year for the fundraiser.  Donations for the fundraiser will be taken October 1^st through October 31^st. Since Keith will be celebrating his 40th birthday this year, anyone that makes at least a $40 donation will receive a special 'thank you' card that you will like very much! 10-01-07 - Keith Releases Statement Regarding Motorcycle Accident
In true Keith Urban-style (read as: "classy, honest & to-the-point"), he has again issued a statement directly to his fans to cut gossip & speculation about the incident to a minimum. In Keith's own words, "Today's incident was the result of one person's desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy. Some have already attempted to inflate the facts, but the reality is this; while out riding to an AA meeting, a time when my privacy is especially important to me, I felt myself being pursued. I sped up, and in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal u-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike. In actual fact, my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road. I returned home, got my car, and continued on my way." Fan will remember that Keith did the same thing with a video statement addressed directly to his fans after his release from rehab.

9-17-07 - Keith to Perform on CMAs
Keith Urban is among the first wave of artists to be announced as performers for the 41st Annual Country Music Association Awards.  KU is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing and Entertainer of the Year.  The writers of KU's hit single Stupid Boy, Sarah Buxton, Dave Burg & Deanna Bryant, are also nominated for Song of the Year. The awards will air live from Las Vegas November 7th at 7pm on ABC.

9-04-07 - More Dates Announced for Keith's World Tour!
Keith Urban's immensely successful "Love, Pain & the whole crazy World Tour" isn't over yet!  Dates for the second leg of the tour have been announced & will take him across the USA, as well as Canada.  Most importantly, fans who purchased tickets for the early shows of the first leg of the tour, which were cancelled due to Keith's decision to enter rehab, will now get a chance to see the show that has been the talk of reviewers & country music fans alike.  For a complete list of dates & cities, please visit keithurban.net.

8-09-07 - "Everybody" to be Next Single
Fan speculation has been high regarding which song will be the fourth & final single from Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing. "Everybody", the sentimental song about what every human being needs, will be released to radio on Tuesday, August 21st.  Co-written by KU & Richard Marx, Keith Urban has described the song as a "sentiment that is as true today as it has ever been. When you hear a song that speaks to what you're going through, there's reassurance in knowing that there are others that have been through what you've been through."

7-04-07 - Happy Independence Day!
Hope everyone has a happy & safe 4th of July! I'll be celebrating mine by helping with not only one, but two professional fireworks shows, then going to see Keith in Dallas on the 6th.  If you're traveling for the holiday, please stay safe. And, no matter how you choose to celebrate, remember the reason why we do so. Be thankful for those who continue to fight to keep our country free & say a prayer that they return home safe & soon to those they love and who love them.

Keith's latest single, "I Told You So", has entered the Top 10 Country Singles Charts this week at #10!  This is the third single from Keith's platinum selling album, Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing.  The video for the single is currently #2 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown & #7 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown.

According to fan reports from the message board at Keith's official site, the Manchester concert was cancelled due to Keith's losing his voice. This has as yet to be confirmed by Keith's people. We'll update you as soon as there's confirmed information available.

Don't forget to set your VCRs (and yourself in front of the TV) for the 2007 CMT Music Awards!  "Once in a Lifetime" is up for Video of the Year.  Keith is scheduled to perform as well.

4/10/2007 - Update
I apologize for the long delay in the update of the site.  As Keith might say, some "life stuff" has taken priority.  Since I last updated in November, I've gained two family members, one by wedding to my sister and the other by birth to my cousin.  I've also taken on additional responsibility at work. As everyone who knows me personally knows, I've also been helping my mother to cope with the loss of the love of her life & best friend which were all rolled up into one man she called "husband". It's now been over 7 months since his passing, and, hopefully, time to get back to the stuff of my daily online living, at least a little at a time.  I've missed everyone. I know a few of you have been dealing with your own problems (get well soon, Connie & Gleni). I'm sorry that I haven't been around more for you all, but I look forward to getting back in touch very soon, possibly in the form of Friday night KeithChat.

It's a little early (at least, computer-wise) to set out a tentative date for the completion or even the progress of the site.  Again, most everyone who has been to the board, or at least was around the board late last year, knows of the computer problems I've had.  My Windows just went kaput.  Luckily, a Godsend of a computer tech named David was able to set it up so that I could save everything on my computer to an external hard drive.  However, my computer was not fixed by a long shot. It had registry issues that wouldn't allow any of my editing software to work properly.  Just this past weekend, I've finally had time to finish getting everything off the hard drive, wipe it & re-install everything.  So far, everything is working without a glitch and I am once again able to edit the site.

To refresh everyone's memories as to where we are with the site revamp, the basic structure of the site is up.  The Home, Bio, Discography & Links pages are functional and accessible through the menu, as well as the Message Board & Chat Room.

Due to the quantity of pages, the amount of time needed to update the remaining pages of the site, and the continued limitations placed on my time by day-to-day life, I will update the rest of the site on a rolling basis.  I will post status updates to this page and via the site mailing list on a weekly basis.  If you wish to join the mailing list, you can do so by clicking here and including the words "Add me to the mailing list" in the body of the email.  Only those emails with the text in the body will be added in order to protect the list against spambots.
